Project Spotlight | Plaza Towers

/

This project was a renovation of two 26-story condominium towers located in Buckhead. The scope of work included 2,500 SF of event space, updated millwork, new carpet, new wall coverings, plaza restroom upgrades, and renovated front reception desks. It also included an updated break room with new flooring, cabinetry, ceilings, appliances, and lighting.

The residential corridor was also renovated, with finishes including wall covering, flooring, new elevators, ceiling paint, and new lighting clouds.

Our Macallan Team was honored to have been invited to the Shepherd's Men Invitation Clay Shoot Event again this year! Shepherd's Men is an organization dedicated to creating advocacy and opportunity for our nation's veterans who have been affected by the hidden injuries of war by raising awareness and funds for the SHARE Military Initiative.

All proceeds from the event benefitted veteran suicide prevention efforts through the Shepherd Center’s SHARE Military Initiative for Traumatic Brain Injury.

This comparison collage displays an in-progress shot versus the finished project of the beautifully transformed entrance for Georgia State University's North Addition and Renovation.

The addition, completed in 2021, includes a new lobby, a monumental staircase, and a pair of elevators for vertical movement to the second level of the original library.

Project Spotlight | Kirkwood Mixed Use

This project spotlight is a renovation of a two-story building in the Kirkwood neighborhood for mixed-use. Evergreen Butcher and Baker establishment is on the first floor, and residence is on the second floor.

To get the building ready, significant structural modifications were required initially. Additionally, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure installations were required to support the commercial kitchens.

It's Feature Friday! Get to know a little about the newest addition to our team, Jason!

- What’s your construction specialty?

My construction specialty is general construction, with an extensive background in commercial and residential renovations.

- What attracted you to construction?

My attraction to construction is the ability to create and be creative. I love starting with an existing or blank canvas and creating something that people want. That and riding around with my kids, pointing at things and saying, "I did that."

- What was the most memorable construction project you’ve ever worked on?

Several years ago, I built my parents' dream home for them on acreage in south Coweta County. After years of building for others, it was always a dream to do something for my parents, who had previously lived in the same home for more than 35 years.

- What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?

It is a great industry for anyone who loves to be creative. The diversity of people, projects, and even locations is very unique to our industry. As far as advice goes, try to constantly learn and grow, and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.

- Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!

Not sure it's a fun fact, but I have a lot of fun in my life. I try to be constantly active outdoors, enjoying golfing, fishing, or going to events. If it happens outside, I am probably into it.
