Check out this project spotlight! This unique renovation at Bill Lowe Gallery features a two-story volume filled with ultra-smooth walls, polished concrete flooring, and advanced lighting controls. These elements create the perfect setting to showcase stunning artwork. Special attention was given to designing a cost-effective mezzanine, optimizing the space and enhancing the owner's ability to utilize the gallery to its fullest potential.

The Recovery Villages of South Atlanta | Before & After

We’re thrilled to have once again collaborated with Advanced Recovery Systems to enhance Recovery Villages South Atlanta, their newest facility in Stockbridge, GA!

This project involved the demolition and interior renovation of 34,700 square feet of an existing medical care facility, transforming it into a rehab center. Additional improvements included the replacement of the entire roof, installation of all new HVAC rooftop equipment, two new pavilions, a shade sail, new concrete paving, a decorative paver patio, a gravel seating area, resurfacing of an existing sports court, site lighting, and extensive landscaping.

-Eventually seeing the finished product and knowing you were part of a team that made it happen.

🚧 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?
Identify your specific trade within the construction industry and gain experience. Many start as unqualified workers and work their way up the ladder.

🏗️ Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!
-I was a match for my husband, and I was able to be his living kidney donor. It will be one year in December since the donation, and we are both in excellent health. He is my "perfect match."

Powder Springs Municipal Court | Topping Out Ceremony

We are excited to announce that we recently held the Topping Out Ceremony for the new Powder Springs Municipal Complex on Friday!

It was a pleasure to celebrate the hard work of our dedicated team, subcontractors, and everyone involved in this project. We extend a special thanks to the City of Powder Springs and CROFT & Associates for their outstanding architectural vision. From the signed beams to the delicious meal provided by Black Market Barbecue, it was a memorable day that marked a significant milestone. We look forward to seeing this new project come to life in 2025!

-I love experiencing the completion of the project after working through all the challenges and changes it may bring. It is very rewarding to me.

🚧 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?
-Do not take things personally, there are a lot of things in construction that we cannot control.

🏗️ Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!
-I love the ocean, sailing, and diving.  I have been on several shark dives and have sailed around the 7614 islands of the Philippines for weeks at a time.

The renovation at Georgia State University’s Hurt Park focused on revitalizing the historic fountain. The project included repointing the radius wall, adding new precast stairs around the fountain, and resetting the curbing throughout the park. These improvements were aimed at enhancing the space while preserving its classic charm.

-Being part of a team that creates spaces, whether a building structure, a renovation to an existing space, or a green space, brings a feeling of accomplishment when completing the project. 

🚧 What advice would you want to give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?
-Get your hands dirty.  Get out there and do the work in whatever capacity in a trade and get the schooling for the management skills at the same time. 

🏗️ Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!
- I've been a professional musician for 30 years as a studio and live session keyboardist.

This project was an interior renovation of the existing Acworth City Hall in Acworth, GA. It consisted of renovating electrical systems, including lights and panels, and installing a new HVAC system and ductwork. The space also received new flooring, paint, and drywall.

Macallan Construction has been incredibly fortunate to work with Georgia State University on a variety of projects over the years. This specific project, completed in 2020, covered 28,000 square feet of the eleventh floor of Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University, and the Delta Student Success Center (12th Floor), which creates a best-in-class business environment for its honor students.
