Welcome to Macallan Chad!
We stabilized and moved Dahlonega’s Historic Head House onto a new foundation on the other side of the site!
We had the pleasure of building Georgia State University ’s Library North Addition and Renovation. This project created a dramatic new entrance for the library after the demolition of North Plaza and Kell Hall. This new space allows movement between the new campus greenway and the entrance to Library North.
Each retail project is different and has its own feel. Macallan Construction works with great architect partners that make sure to keep every space as unique as possible with distinctive elements that bring out the best in each space.

What’s your construction specialty?
- Interior Remodel
What attracted you to the construction industry?
- I have always loved working with my hands so Construction just seemed natural.
What was the most memorable construction project you’ve ever worked on?
- The Coca-Cola headquarters remodel I spent 6 years on the project and was there for $300 million of work.
What advice would you give someone who wanted to enter the construction field?
- College is great but in this industry you can work your way from sweeping floors to the president of a company, if you have the right attitude and want to learn.
Tell us an interesting or fun fact about yourself!
- I plead the 5th. That's what I would have said 10 years ago but now I just enjoy raising my two kids and being a dad.
The Bricks Multifamily project is one of the more spectacular historic restoration projects Macallan Construction has had the pleasure of working on. The original structure was built in 1838 and served as a hospital during the Civil War. It featured a designation as the oldest apartment building in the United States and originally housed mill workers near the Roswell Mill. Macallan worked closely with the Owners and the Roswell Historical Preservation Commission to develop a plan that preserved the integrity of the original Bricks structure while re-purposing the building for 21st century tenants. Macallan was recognized with a Contractor of the Year Award for Historical Preservation from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

We are thrilled to announce that Macallan Construction will be restoring the City of Dahlonega’s historic “Head House.”
The "Head House" was built by Homer Head for himself and his wife in the early 1900s. It was constructed from wood salvaged from the original 1841 Baptist Church by Dr. Head. Now owned by the City of Dahlonega, the house could become the new home of the DDA.
Working on historic projects can be a challenge, especially when it's time to match the materials with the existing structure to keep the overall essence of the original design intact. Macallan Construction is proud of the results of these projects, each providing unique elements that made the spaces stunning!
Macallan Construction has had the pleasure of renovating many senior living projects. During a renovation, every detail counts. Each element is crucial in creating a space that draws your attention while also blending cohesively with the design and structure that exists.
